After we put out another call to our past couples, we had Davina and Selvin reach out that they wanted to answer a few follow-up questions for our apparently new blog series, Mixing Memories.

We loved working with Davina and Selvin so much, and they have also been so supportive on social media by tagging us in their sneak peeks by Poppy Photography and leaving praise on several of our Instagram posts and stories.

From the initial planning stage it was a breeze! With the help of their always-amazing coordinating team, CME Experience, we were able to help coordinate everything locally, while they were out-of-state, so their true PNW Wedding experience could go off without a hitch and make the process as easy as possible. As you can imagine, planning a wedding is hard enough – no matter who you have on your team – but it can be even more so doing it from a different state. No matter the need, or task needed, Davina and Selvin were always a joy to plan with and flexible to find the best option for them.

We followed up with a few questions, and we thought you’d enjoy reading their response:

How did you find Kitsap Bartending Services and what made you decide we were a good fit for you?

We were referred by our amazing Wedding Coordinator, Chloe from CME, and based on her glorifying reviews/feedback, and seeing all the awesomeness KBS had to offer, we just felt it was the right move to partner with them.

Can you describe the communication and coordination with our team leading up to the wedding day?

Bryan has been on it from day one. Any piece of information or any question we could possibly have, Bryan was already prepared with all of the answers and information we could ever need. The level of preparedness is hard to match, we didn’t have to do much other than listen to his advice lol…it was all mapped out and made so easy for us…seriously a blessing.

Can you share any memorable or funny bar-related moments or stories that stood out from your wedding?

Leading up to the wedding, I was starting to lose my mind with all the last-minute details surrounding the wedding, and I was out at the grocery store picking up garnishes and mixers for the wedding drinks with my then, fiancĂ©, the day prior to our big day, and I was struggling to find a certain ingredients needed on the list for one of our cocktails. I was driving my poor fiancĂ© insane with my stress, running around trying to hunt down darn blackberry compote, when I decided, maybe I should call reinforcements. Well, I called Bryan, not expecting he’d even answer since it was the day before the wedding…and I was right….he didn’t (LOL) but, he did call me right back! He gave me options and fixed my insane mental state and made my level 100 anxiety drop down in an instant. Just awesome service and anyone who can deal with my scatter brain is a stellar human at that.

During the beginning stages, was there any aspect of the bar planning that was intimidating or felt overwhelming? In the end, was it as stressful as you thought it would be going into it?

Definitely understanding how much alcohol is needed and what types of alcohol, as well as how to not run out of drinks or the opposite, how to avoid having too much (since we were getting married not in the state we lived in). It was 100% not as stressful as we thought because Bryan and KBS make it simple, they’ll either handle it all for you, or walk you through how to figure it out and it was super easy and seamless.

In your opinion, what sets our bar services apart from others you considered for your wedding?

How personable Bryan and whole team are, you feel like instant friends. They also just make it so so easy, seriously they have it all figured out.

How did you both feel the morning of the big day?

Anxious and excited…but definitely not worried. We felt confident in all our vendors which was an awesome feeling.

Aside from KBS, what was another vendor that deserves a shout out and you loved working with?

They were all amazing honestly, we definitely had the A-team! But, if I had to pick one additional to call out, I’d have to call out Chloe and CME Experience, because she referred and led us too all of the amazing vendor partners, who made our day so special.

What TWO pieces of advice would you give to future couples planning their weddings? The first, being a general piece of advice and the second, a piece of advice when planning the bar.

1) Make sure to plan time to enjoy yourself at your own wedding! The day can get very busy with photos and videos, by the time you turn around, the night is over. Make sure you plan purposeful time to just “be”, and take it all in, get to dance and mingle…photos and videos are great, but you want memories of actually enjoying yourself at your wedding also!

2) Just book KBS and save yourself any unnecessary heartache! Lol no but in all seriousness, find a company that you feel confident in from the start, don’t just focus on what costs less, because you will always get what you pay for. Also, don’t focus too much on what everyone else wants, make choices based on what you want and in the end, everyone will have a great time regardless.

If you had to go back in time, and do it all over again, would you hire Kitsap Bartending Services again?

100%, without a doubt!!! I will be recommending KBS to my brother and his fiancé who is planning on getting married next year (they need to hurry up and start planning).

Thank you so much Davina and Selvin, for not only providing us with such amazing feedback and willingness to answer our follow-up questions for this blog post, but most-importantly, for letting us be a part of your special day!
